USED BUT IN VERY GOOD COSMETIC AND WORKING CONDITION WITH ALL ACCESSORIES. Screens are in good overall condition but these are USED units just keep that in mind and look at the pictures, especially the pics with screen OFF where you can see any potential scratches and scuffs, Thank you.
Is it a newer much faster/better model like the EDGE series of scanners which NO LONGER rely on the obsolete Windows XP operating system? The solus edge is such a device using. Solus Ultra, and earlier systems are considered obsolete, and most do not support any future updates, some like the verus wireless don't do anything past 17.2. Rest assured the Edge line will be supported for many years to come. Is it up to date with newest and latest software?
There has been a lot of significant improvements in 19.2, 18.4, 18.2, respectively, 17.2 adding Harley Davidson ability, and lots of new features and diagnostic capabilities added in each of those three certainly worth a few extra bucks to get with the unit, anything below a 17.4 is considered to be useless and obsolete. Personally I recommend 18.4 or 19.2 if you want online access, but if cost is a factor settling for 18.2 or 17.4 is fine for most, I do not recommend anything older. As newer cars have more technology in them you want the latest features in these updates.
Latest software as of this posting is 19.2, software updates are kind of expensive, so its a good idea to get the latest you can afford to start. Also you must have the latest and be current on updates to use SureTrack online. Read about the 19.2 update here. Is it a nice and complete, clean lightly used unit or a dirty, well worn, heavily used unit, you can always tell if they were used heavily and daily in a shop commercially or if they were owned by a hobbyist, where they get very little use and look nice and pretty. Look at the pictures, lots of people sell them with broken obdII connectors, scratched screens, missing parts, etc.Does the unit come with all accessories as it did from day 1? And are the accessories cheap Chinese knockoffs or genuine Snapon components? Does the unit have a plastic screen protector? If it does its a sign of being well cared for and screen should be in very good condition with no scratches, the protector serves as a first line of defense and when worn or damaged can be peeled off and replaced with a new one, no screen protector = permanent screen scratches, dings, etches, etc. Is the unit free and clear of problems and is it updateable?
Some blacklisted units cannot be updated due to balances owned etc. If someone bails on paying their bill or in case of theft. Is the firmware also updated, not only are there diagnostic suite updates but also firmware updates that update the functionality of wi-fi and the basic systems that run the diagnostic suite, you should plug your unit in to your computer once in a while and check for updates using shop stream connect to make sure you have the latest and greatest functionality possible, and the best experience using these scanners.
